I’m one of those people who gets really excited about chocolate. More specifically, high-quality fair trade, and organic dark chocolate. I discovered Salazon at Expo and really enjoyed hearing about their company and sampling some of the dark chocolates with sea salt. Remember when I promised another Sprout Living recipe in my previous post? Well, you’re looking at it! After trying the Original, Chocolate Maca, and Green Kingdom EPIC Protein flavors I was just dying to use the Vanilla Lucuma in a recipe. This shake/smoothie is nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free and low in fat but still high in protein and fiber. I only recently started using buckwheat in smoothies, and I was amazed at how it makes them so creamy and filling. As my first post-Expo giveaway, I’m super excited to introduce one of the companies I discovered at the Natural Products Expo West. I’m a little bit of a nut butter addict. Minus the “little bit”. However, for me quality is still super important. In my house, we make it a rule to not buy any nut butters with hydrogenated oils or added sugars (no JIF or Skippy allowed in our cupboards). So, you can imagine my excitement when Windy City Organics sent me a variety of organic and raw, stone-ground nut and seed butters made by Dastony. I could tell right away that these were made with high-quality ingredients, and they come in the cutest glass jars that you can reuse later on! Go Raw Snacks

Remember when I talked about incorporating more raw foods into my diet? Since my favorite raw vegan restaurant closed its doors, I’ve been wanting to try new raw foods including smoothie recipes, desserts and even snacks.
