Chocolate Cocozia & Espresso Shake

An alternative to that Mocha Coconut Frappuccino you used to love. Plus it's vegan, gluten-free and delicious! @anotherhungryvegan.comExpo was a lot of fun and all, but I was missing smoothies almost the whole time. I ended up with a few bags of samples to take home (luckily I was able to check a separate suitcase), and I wanted to make something special with some of the items. Cocozia also happened to send me some samples of their Chocolate Coconut Water, and although I’ve been featuring some recipes using it on my Instagram, I couldn’t wait to share this particular recipe! I’ve been just a little obsessed with protein shakes lately. Ok, I’m pretty much always obsessed with them. If you haven’t gathered it already, I love coming up with creative smoothies recipes with flavor combos as unique as possible. However, I also like to use healthy ingredients I have on hand while putting a fun spin on the recipes. This high-in-protein shake happens to feature Mushroom Matrix, as another part of my recipe series this week that includes their Fit Matrix. Tahini Espresso Protein Shake

As promised, here is the first of a few recipes I will be featuring using Mushroom Matrix’s Fit. This protein shake happens to include a few of my favorite brands and flavors all together in one delicious (and totally healthy) post-workout shake. Who would’ve thought that things like tahini, coffee, pears, bananas and mushroom powder would go together? I wouldn’t have at first but trust me, this was one extremely happy accident that I discovered. I even boosted it with some Growing Naturals Vanilla Blast rice protein, so this entire smoothie has almost 30g of plant-based protein. The added Mushroom Matrix makes it complete with an added boost of immunity, while helping fight fatigue and increase your fitness performance. You don’t even have to drink this shake after a workout, but I can promise that it’s a super satisfying treat to have after your morning gym session or run outside. Let’s face it, we all want to get in more exercise now that the New Year is upon us. This decadent shake makes it all worth it! Continue reading
