I’m in love with chocolate and I’m not afraid to admit it! I don’t know if you knew this, but Madecasse makes a line of high quality chocolate bars (most of which are vegan), plus a line of other products like vanilla extract and chocolate discs that I have featured in recipes on this blog. One of the reasons why Madecasse’s chocolates are so tasty is because they are made with heirloom cocoa, known as some of the world’s last genetically pure cocoa. I am so thankful to Madecasse for sending some samples of their products to try out, that I went and purchased a few of their other items. What can I say? I just wanted to give a lot of new chocolate bars a try! Continue reading

Brownies are amazing…am I right? Whether you’re a cake brownie or fudgy brownie lover, there’s a sweet treat for everyone! I’ve made my fair share of brownies in the past, but I’ve hardly ever ventured into the gluten-free territory. Using some products from Madecasse and TigerNuts gave me the chance to experiment with a vegan and gluten-free fudgy brownie recipe! Even further, I was able to make these completely nut-free as well. Now, regardless of if you’re vegan, or if you can’t consume gluten, dairy, eggs and/or nuts you can still enjoy these fabulous and ultra-fudgy brownies! Continue reading
Coconut & Nutella Shake
Nutella is one of those spreads that vegans and non-vegans dream about. There’s something about that nutty, sweet and chocolatey flavor that makes whatever you put it on spectacular. However, as you probably know already…Nutella is neither vegan nor healthy. BUT I stumbled upon this alternative at Expo West that tastes exactly like the infamous treat. Read on to find out what it is and how to make this delicious shake with Coconut and Vegan Nutella plus some protein for good measure. Continue reading
Chocolate, Caramel and PB Squares (GF)
Do you know what happens when I have samples from Madecasse, Cocomels and Chicago Vegan Foods on hand? I bake with them of course! I recently discovered the Veganic Brown Rice Crisps Cereal which have been a great breakfast when I’m wanting something more than a smoothie (and don’t even get me started on their Cacao Crisps). With vegan marshmallows, peanut butter, caramels, rice crisps and baking chocolate on band…I went a little crazy. I came up with these 3-layer vegan and gluten-free treats that are vegan and omnivore-approved. Seriously, my mom took most of these with her to work and they were gone in no time. Make these for your next potluck, get-together, or Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale which is happening on May 2nd this year. Read on for this incredibly delicious recipe! Continue reading
Dark Chocolate Chip Mint Shake
Is it mid-April already?? Something that almost immediately comes to mind for me when it comes to Spring is mint – the color, flavor and everything in-between. Because Easter, Mother’s Day and my birthday all happen during this season, I also automatically associate it with chocolate. So I figured, why not combine the two in a Sweet Mint Chocolate Shake made with some of my favorite products of the season! Continue reading
Salazon Chocolate Co
I’m one of those people who gets really excited about chocolate. More specifically, high-quality fair trade, and organic dark chocolate. I discovered Salazon at Expo and really enjoyed hearing about their company and sampling some of the dark chocolates with sea salt. Salazon Chocolate Co was super generous to send some samples for me to try and review for you. I even have a recipe coming in the next week using one of their bars that you definitely won’t want to miss out on! Continue reading
Raspberry Chocolate Chip Shake
I’ve had a few Sprout Living smoothie recipes on my mind lately, and I couldn’t wait any longer to share them with you! If this is the first time you’re hearing about Sprout Living, well basically they make a line of super nutritious, raw, gluten-free and vegan protein powders. One of my favorite flavors of all time has been their EPIC Protein: Chocolate Maca. Sprout Living recently reformulated their line, and I was eagerly waiting in anticipation to try it out! The first recipe I made with their reformulated Chocolate Maca is for this Raspberry Chocolate Chip Shake, which isn’t your standard protein shake. This one is filled with protein and healthy fats, without any artificial sweeteners or color additives. Believe it or not, the color is from raspberries and the sweetener comes from bananas and dates. Read on for the recipe, and to learn more about one of my favorite products from Sprout Living! Chocolate Cocozia & Espresso Shake
Expo was a lot of fun and all, but I was missing smoothies almost the whole time. I ended up with a few bags of samples to take home (luckily I was able to check a separate suitcase), and I wanted to make something special with some of the items. Cocozia also happened to send me some samples of their Chocolate Coconut Water, and although I’ve been featuring some recipes using it on my Instagram, I couldn’t wait to share this particular recipe! This shake tastes like a delicious frappuccino, but it’s even better. Yes, Starbucks might have coconut milk, but I doubt that they have chocolate coconut water on hand! Continue reading
Four Sigma Foods
I’ve mentioned a couple times on this blog that there are a few new superfood trends of 2015 to follow. One of them happens to be mushrooms, and YES that’s where this review comes in. Four Sigma Foods was a company I discovered on Instagram through their beautiful photography and vegan-friendly drink mixes that sounded lovely! The company reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try and review their products, and of course I said yes. Find out more about their line of products and how I enjoyed them, just to give you more ideas on how to incorporate superfood mushrooms into your daily routine! Continue reading
