This is the last of my Dastony review posts (for this week anyway)! Since it’s Friday, what better way to power through your day than with some matcha and pumpkin seeds? Interestingly enough, I did some searching online and I found out that pumpkin seeds have some benefits that I didn’t even know about! Did you know that they are the only seed that is alkaline-forming in the body? Or that they contain the minerals phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, iron and copper? Of course these seeds are also a great source of heart-healthy fats and protein. All the better reason to eat them. With this vanilla and matcha smoothie recipe, it’s easier than ever to get in your dose of pumpkin seeds!
I love the fact that Dastony makes a sprouted and all-organic pumpkin seed butter. I literally have never been able to find another one in any of the stores I shop at (and certainly not one made with organic ingredients)! Can you guess what’s in this jar? Just organic, raw and sprouted pumpkin seeds! No sugar or salt added and definitely no preservatives. Like the other nut and seed butters, no refrigeration is required and you don’t have to keep stirring the seed butter to avoid clumping. It has a rich, almost cheesy flavor that I know would make an excellent pesto or other sauce. I went for the smoothie option (typical, I know), but I will definitely be experimenting with some other recipes!
Similar to my other recipes, this one also features Growing Naturals Vanilla Blast protein. It adds a smooth and sweet taste, and you would never know that it adds 24g of protein per scoop! I also included a teaspoon of Kiss Me Organics Matcha Powder which helps give you a boost along with a little maca powder thrown in the mix. A huge thanks to Windy City Organics for sending these awesome jars of nut-free seed butters for me to try! As mentioned before, if you’re interested in purchasing Dastony, you can do so on the Dastony website. Which nut or seed butter are you wanting to try first? What kind of recipe are you thinking of using it in?
- 1 cup cold, filtered water
- 1 heaping tbs pumpkinseed nut butter
- 1/2-1 tsp maca powder
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 1 scoop Growing Naturals Vanilla Blast Protein
- 1 frozen banana
- 1-2 tsp coconut sugar/other sweetener
- ice
- Place all ingredients into a blender and mix until you get a smooth, creamy consistency. Add additional sweetener or ice if needed.
That pumpkinseed butter looks incredible! As always, your smoothie creations amaze me!
Aww, thanks Mandy! I never thought I would like the pumpkinseed butter as much as I do. It’s so much fun to try new things!
Mmmmm I think I’m gonna try this with the EPIC vanilla lucuma! Think that will work? x
Absolutely! I have a few other EPIC Protein recipes coming up, and one of them features the Vanilla Lucuma 🙂
