From my Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest page and this blog, it’s pretty evident that I love smoothies and protein shakes. Why, you may ask? Because they are quick to make, flavorful and a great way to pack in more protein, fiber, hydration and different nutrients. Whether it is in the morning, afternoon or evening a blended drink always sounds appealing to me. Recently, Growing Naturals reached out to me to try and review their various plant-based proteins and rice drinks. Keep reading on to find out what I thought of their Rice Drinks and get 50% OFF your order so you can try them for yourself. Plus, find out how you can enter to win a selection of your choice of rice and pea protein powders, rice milk powder, a shaker bottle and signature tote bag!
In the past, I have tried rice milks and they really didn’t appeal to me all that much. Many typical rice drinks have very little protein (if any), lots of sugar, are super watery in consistency and don’t last that long in the fridge. Luckily, these Rice Drinks from Growing Naturals don’t have any of those issues. They are made with 8-9g of whole grain and sprouted brown rice protein, are low in sugar and fat, and they can be stored in your cupboards and taken on the go.
The Velvety Chocolate organic Rice Drink powder was the first one I went for because…well it’s chocolate. I mixed this up in a shaker bottle with about 10oz of cold, filtered water and poured it into a glass. I remember this craze that went on a couple years ago where people were claiming that chocolate milk was the perfect post-workout drink. However, I believe that this chocolate-flavored rice drink is way better for you, is easier to digest, and no animals were harmed in the process to get the milk. When the powder is mixed with cold water, it really does taste like a milky chocolate drink. However, you can also use it in smoothies, shakes, and even hot cocoa to add a little extra protein into your favorite drinks.
The Creamy Vanilla also makes a smooth vanilla-flavored drink that you can drink on its own or add to your favorite smoothies. For one of my latest recipes featuring some February product favorites including this Rice Drink powder, you can click here.
I’ve also heard you can use this Rice Drink protein in baking, such as in recipes that call for non-dairy milk. Unfortunately I took the easy way out and bought some pre-made dough from Hampton Creek. But, I found that the Silky Smooth Original is a great milk alternative to drink with your favorite desserts. The Rice Drink packs some clean protein so you don’t over-do it on the sweets that you might have with it.
The Rice Drink powders also can be added to your morning oats or cereal. Just use a scoop and 8-12oz of water and you’ve got a protein boosted breakfast when you don’t feel like making a smoothie. These overnight oats kept me full for a long time, and the powder added a creamy texture but I still couldn’t even tell there was added protein in there.
So, how can you win the prize of your choice of rice and pea protein powders, rice milk powder, a shaker bottle and signature tote bag? Just follow the prompts for Rafflecopter below to enter. The contest closes next Friday (Feb 13th) so you have a full week to enter and/or share it with your friends!
